During the procedure, many precautions are taken to ensure the safety of all parties involved. These precautions include:

• Segregation and warning signs erected to enclose the area

• Air monitors installed to detect any health hazards

• Spray methods are employed to suppress the potential fibres

• Asbestos placed in a heavy duty bag and disposed to EPA approved tipping facility

• Staff are supplied with all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE)

• Site specific safe work method statement and asbestos control plans are provided to all staff involved in the project

• Work sites are decontaminated to ensure the potential for asbestos is minimised before leaving the site

• Vehicles leaving the work site during the works are cleaned and decontaminated

• Tools and equipment are decontaminated after the project is complete

• Upon completion an asbestos clearance certificate is provided
